Public Notice – Asbestos Testing

PUBLIC NOTICE REGARDING ASBESTOS TESTING

State regulations require public water systems to conduct asbestos testing at least once every nine years. The testing was completed, but unfortunately, the invoice was not received and paid on time which resulted in a reporting violation. As part of the regulatory requirements, the District is now required to provide public notice to all residents due to the violation. Click here to view the notice.

The District’s drinking water is safe to drink and continues to meet all applicable drinking water standards. The results of the asbestos testing in question were less than 0.19 MFL (Million Fibers per Liter) which is well below the EPA limit for safe drinking water. Residents do not need to take any action, and there is no indication that the District’s drinking water is unsafe.

The required notice was mailed to residents separately through the United States Postal Service as a special mailing and is also being made available on the District’s website.

For questions regarding this notice or the District’s drinking water, please contact Wendy Rambin, Compliance Manager at 281-807-9500.

The District remains committed to providing safe, reliable, and high-quality drinking water to its residents.
